PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between CJ Tripp (ranked 692 p4p, 99 weight class) and Julio Regueiro (ranked 539 p4p, 79 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Regueiro moves out of range of the strikes.

Regueiro shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Tripp napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Tripp's coaches at Ryōzanpaku Dojo have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Regueiro has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Tripp can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

That was a close second round but I would say that CJ Tripp will probably get the nod.

Regueiro has his foot on Tripp's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Tripp works his way back into a safe position though.

Well Regueiro has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
