The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Luzinski gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Almeida to score an easy takedown into full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Luzinski is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Almeida asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Luzinski throws a right and a left that Almeida avoids nicely.
Almeida closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Luzinski's guard.

Almeida is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Luzinski really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Almeida. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Almeida seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Luzinski for as long as he can get away with.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Luzinski has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Almeida is on him like a limpet, forcing Luzinski back against the cage.
