Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Lyle Chipperson (ranked 4901 p4p, 0 weight class) and Filip Baran (ranked 4450 p4p, 0 weight class). Chipperson comes to the cage accompanied by Chip. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lyle Chipperson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Filip Baran!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Frank Dennis and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chipperson with a poor takedown
and Baran counters with a three punch combo that has Chipperson backing up. Chipperson nods at Baran to acknowledge the strikes.

Baran has Chipperson up against the cage in a clinch.
Chipperson is trying to drag Baran to the mat but Baran just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Chipperson is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Baran pulls him back up using the underhooks.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lyle Chipperson. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Baran jumps guard and drags Chipperson to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Chipperson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

As Chipperson backs off Baran throws a huge counter combo but Chipperson manages to avoid it all.

Chipperson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Baran avoids it really well and circles away.

Chipperson shoots in looking for a takedown but Baran manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Chipperson's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Chipperson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Chipperson wants it to stay on the feet.
As Baran looks to move away, Chipperson throws a big counter combo but Baran just gets out of the way.

and Baran counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Baran.

Baran is trying to pull guard but Chipperson turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Chipperson tries to pull guard but Baran holds him up against the cage and eventually Chipperson drops back down to his feet.

Baran avoids the head kick by Chipperson.
Baran shoots in for a takedown but Chipperson shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Baran has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Chipperson uses from the top position.

Chipperson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Baran manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Chipperson manages to get himself to full guard.

Baran moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Baran is trying to hold Chipperson in close to prevent damage but Chipperson has managed to pass into half guard.

Chipperson is pressing down on Baran's thigh, looking to free his foot. Baran is holding on for now.

Baran misses with some strikes from the bottom.
The fighters are battling for position here. Baran manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Baran really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Chipperson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Chipperson wants to stand and escape but instead Baran has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Baran tries to stand but his arm is trapped.

Well Baran has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
