PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Alex Gracie (ranked 4596 p4p, 384 weight class) and Muhammad Yudaz (ranked 3002 p4p, 275 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gracie shoots in and bounces Yudaz off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gracie postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Yudaz is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Gracie, into his guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Yudaz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gracie. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Yudaz tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Yudaz has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Gracie is controlling Yudaz's trapped leg to prevent Yudaz from advancing to side control.

Gracie has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Yudaz is working away from the top position though.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Yudaz feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Yudaz is sitting in close to Gracie's body. Gracie has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Yudaz is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Yudaz is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Gracie.
