Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Top Heavy (ranked 3946 p4p, 445 weight class) and Kyle Kuzma (ranked 2863 p4p, 351 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Heavy will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Kuzma throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Kuzma misses with a two punch combination.
Kuzma has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

It looks like Top Heavy has been cut.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Kuzma enables Heavy to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Kuzma manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Kuzma throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Heavy stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Heavy manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Kuzma on his heels. He'll look to pass Kuzma's guard now, I'm sure.

Kuzma wanted to stand there but Heavy had control of the position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Kuzma wants to slow Heavy down by chopping away at his legs.

Heavy closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Kuzma quickly recovers to half guard.

Heavy is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Heavy takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Kuzma misses with a wild combination.
Horrible takedown attempt by Heavy or perhaps it was just good defense by Kuzma, which made it look bad.
A jab lands there for Heavy.

It looks like Kyle Kuzma has been cut.
Heavy misses with a takedown attempt - Kuzma sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Heavy dives in for a single leg takedown but Kuzma sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Top Heavy. That's going to take a lot out of him.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kuzma tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Heavy paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Kuzma throws a right hand that Heavy ducks under and follows up with a left that Heavy also avoids with ease.
Heavy goes for a double leg but Kuzma avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Kuzma continues to drive forward.
Heavy takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

and Kuzma counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Top Heavy's cut is getting worse.
Heavy loses concentration momentarily and Kuzma pounces with a three punch combo! Right, left, right! Heavy crashes face first to the mat, out cold! Kuzma finishes this one with a fantastically precise combo! Great stuff.
