The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Alec Ball and Elvis Blanc.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maldonado scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Byrne takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
A little jabbing left from Byrne on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Maldonado misses with a left hand
enabling Byrne to counter with a crisp jab.
A jab lands there for Byrne.
Byrne avoids the body shot from Maldonado.
Byrne is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Maldonado throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Byrne.

It looks like Elijah Byrne has been cut.
Maldonado misses with a combination

and Byrne counters with a nice right hand that sends Maldonado toppling to the canvas! Maldonado scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Byrne finish him?!

Maldonado is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Byrne lands a nice hook to Maldonado's body. Maldonado takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Oh Maldonado is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

and Byrne counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Maldonado thinking.

Maldonado tries a head kick but it misses.
It seemed like Byrne was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Maldonado seems to have got his legs back now.
Byrne avoids the body shot from Maldonado.

Maldonado lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Maldonado throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Byrne throws out a counter right but Maldonado avoids it with no problem.
Maldonado misses the shot to the body.
Maldonado tests Byrne's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Maldonado connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Maldonado connects with a jab.
Maldonado is looking to wear down Byrne with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

A looping hook to the body misses from Maldonado. Byrne does a little dance to reset his feet.
Maldonado tries a head kick but it misses.

Byrne cracks Maldonado with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Maldonado looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Byrne finish him?
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Byrne ducks down into range and throws a picture perfect right hook that connects with Maldonado's jaw. Maldonado's eyes stare off into space as he falls to the mat, out cold! Byrne does the decent thing and steps back, rather than landing any shots to his unconscious opponent.
