The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ford fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Pitakaka.
Pitakaka throws a head kick that misses.
As Pitakaka tries to get set, Ford tries to push him back and clinch up but Pitakaka manages to avoid the attempt.

We've been informed that Pitakaka has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Ford's corner calls for a 1-2. Ford obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Ford cracks Pitakaka with a left hand that drops him to the canvas, up against the ropes! Can Pitakaka get back up in time? 3, 4, 5, 6, 7... he's on one knee... 8, 9... he's up! 'Walk towards me' says the referee. Pitakaka looks steady enough to continue so we're going to continue!
It looks like Elijah Pitakaka has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ford creates a bit of space and fires a knee right up the middle, almost lifting Pitakaka off his feet and sending him crashing to the canvas! Pitakaka is trying to get back to his feet but his equilibrium is completely gone! The referee has called it off! This fight is over! Ford is jumping up and down like a mad man, celebrating with his cornermen.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Knee). Rob Ford!
