Coming up we have a lightweight kickboxing rules bout between Renato Gracie (ranked 2217 p4p, 269 weight class) and Bryant Smith (ranked 5471 p4p, 504 weight class). Smith has chosen Television - Marquee Moon as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie throws out a loose jab but Smith uses good head movement to avoid it.
Gracie delivers a nice body kick.
Smith lands a jab to the nose.
A head kick misses from Gracie.
Smith looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Gracie waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Smith.

Renato Gracie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gracie lands with a shot to the body.
Smith goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
An inside leg kick lands from Smith.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gracie lands a jab to the head.
Gracie fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Smith looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Gracie paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Smith doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Gracie takes a swing at Smith's ribcage but misses.
Gracie throws a jab but it's blocked by Smith.
Nice straight punches there by Gracie. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Gracie.
Gracie misses the body punch
and Smith counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Gracie fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Smith.
Gracie scores with a hook to the body. Smith takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Gracie cracks Smith with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Gracie pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Gracie has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Smith steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Gracie.
Smith thumps Gracie with a low kick.

Gracie throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Gracie lands a jab.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Smith keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Gracie.
Gracie lands with a kick to the temple. Smith shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Gracie feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Smiths jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Gracie throws a right hand that misses
and Smith cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Gracie scores with a head kick.
Smith takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Gracie moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Gracie moves out of range of the body kick.
Gracie misses with a lunging right hand
and Smith counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

A nice leg kick lands there from Smith.
Gracie connects with a good right hand that stumbles Smith. Smith circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Smith is rocked!
Gracie cracks Smith with a perfect right hand that drops him to the mat! Smith is sitting up but I can't see if he's OK from my position. The referee's count has reached 5,6,7 and Smith is still not up. Can he make it? 8,9,10! He's out! Smith could not beat the count!
