Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Phillip Haba (ranked 1419 p4p, 180 weight class) and Rick Ambe (ranked 1993 p4p, 249 weight class). Ambe has chosen MASTER P - REPO as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

and Haba cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Ambe is rocked!
Haba throws a hook to the side of Ambe's head but Ambe sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Ambe appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Ambe is still on wobbly legs! Can Haba finish him?
Haba rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Ambe moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Ambe seems to have recovered his senses.

Ambe fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Haba sprawls well initially but Ambe persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Still in half guard, Ambe seems content to control.
Haba has hold of Ambe's hands but Ambe slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Ambe looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Haba with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Ambe has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Island Sparring. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.
