The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Covington closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Chartrand to the mat! Chartrand manages to get full guard.
Covington's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Covington wants to work for an arm triangle but Chartrand is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Covington postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Chartrand to stand up.

Covington is trying hard to land a takedown here. Chartrand sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
