The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hooks throws the kick towards the body but Wagner avoids it.
Hooks works over Wagner's head and body with a nice combination.
A big right from Wagner misses.

Hooks displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Wagner throws out the jab.
Hooks scores with a jab. Wagner acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Hooks throws a body punch but Wagner moves out of range.
Hooks lands with a thumping leg kick.
Wagner looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Wagner tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hooks swats him away and circles back towards the center.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Wagner.
Hooks is looking for the big counter here.

Wagner gets tackled into the cage by Hooks. Hooks maintains the clinch.
A nice right hand lands inside from Hooks.
Wagner fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Hooks lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Wagner backwards.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hooks is leaning against Wagner and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Wagner is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Hooks to keep the fight standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kurt Wagner. That's going to take a lot out of him.

My spies in Doom's Gym inform me that Hooks has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Hooks is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Wagner has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Hooks is looking to defend but Wagner has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Hooks! Wagner pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Hooks taps out and this one is all over!
