Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Julius Reed (ranked 4074 p4p, 333 weight class) and Ivan Gaudalupe (ranked 6923 p4p, 428 weight class). Ivan Gaudalupe will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Julius Reed!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ivan Gaudalupe!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Phil Schofield and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reed on the wrong end of a nice hook.


It looks like Julius Reed has been cut.
Reed lands the left hand.
Reed definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Gaudalupe moves into range and throws a big uppercut. OH! Reed goes down! Can Gaudalupe finish him!?
This has been an exciting period of action!
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Reed is on top in guard.

Gaudalupe throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

Reed is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Reed lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Gaudalupe is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Reed is controlling him.
Reed cracks Gaudalupe with a solid left hand.
Reed showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Reed won't allow Gaudalupe to get back to his feet.
Reed is standing up over Gaudalupe. Gaudalupe looks to escape but Reed dives into side control.
Reed landing a few strikes.

Reed is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Gaudalupe is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Reed connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Gaudalupe some visible discomfort.
Gaudalupe really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Reed. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Gaudalupe takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.

Reed is trying to get an arm triangle but Gaudalupe is defending well.
Gaudalupe is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Reed looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Reed has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Reed scores with a couple of short elbows.

Reed stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Reed closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Gaudalupe to the mat! Gaudalupe manages to get full guard.

Gaudalupe throws his legs up looking for a submission but Reed uses it to pass to side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Reed looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Gaudalupe taking a bit of punishment here - Reed scoring with strikes.

Reed is trying to get an arm triangle but Gaudalupe is defending well.
Reed lands a few punches from side control.

Reed tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Reed is looking to take a break and control but Gaudalupe is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Reed is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Gaudalupe is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Gaudalupe is looking to reverse the position.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!

Gaudalupe is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Reed is controlling him well.

Reed is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Gaudalupe is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Reed landing strikes.
Reed working the body and head with strikes.
Reed wants to control but Gaudalupe is keeping him busy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Reed lands an elbow.
Reed takes a little break here. Gaudalupe wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Gaudalupe is trying to buck Reed off.

Reed has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Ivan Gaudalupe is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Gaudalupe throws a big shot that misses.
Gaudalupe misses with a right hand

and Reed counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Reed scoring with punches to the head and body.
Reed lands a couple of elbows.
Reed chips away with some ground and pound.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Reed stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gaudalupe swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Reed stops Gaudalupe from standing up.
Reed controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Reed postures up and lands a big shot to Gaudalupe's brow.
Reed advances to half guard.
Gaudalupe has hold of Reed's hands but Reed slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Reed seems to be looking for submissions.
Gaudalupe is trying to stand back up but Reed is controlling him
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Julius Reed dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Julius Reed's cut.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Reed slips under a jab.
Gaudalupe misses with a left hand
enabling Reed to counter with a crisp jab.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Reed.

Reed stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Gaudalupe throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Reed tries to counter by clinching up but Gaudalupe breaks away and moves out of range.

Gaudalupe drops Reed with a big left hand and mounts him. Reed is in big trouble!


Reed is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Gaudalupe tries to control but Reed wriggling away.
Oh Reed is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Gaudalupe stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
Gaudalupe flashes Reed a smile before throwing a beast of a right hand, straight down the pipe. Reed's eyes follow the hand right onto his nose, taking in it's full glory... and then darkness. Reed crumples to the floor! He's out cold! Gaudalupe punches the air and yells at the top of his lungs - yeeeeeeeeeeah!!!! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:39 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Ivan Gaudalupe!
