Coming up we have a bantamweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Rubens Charles (ranked 3895 p4p, 207 weight class) and Ono Kuronoa (ranked 1804 p4p, 108 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

In the red corner, competing out of Rio de Janeiro, with a TWGC record of 20 wins and 8 losses; Rubens Charles! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Ono Kuronoa!
The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.


The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Charles dives in and grabs Kuronoa's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kuronoa pushes down on Charles's head and hops out.
Kuronoa changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Kuronoa darts in and clinches Charles up against the ropes.

Kuronoa jumps guard and drags Charles to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Kuronoa is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Charles is aware though and is defending well.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Kuronoa is on top in guard.

We've been hearing good reports from Charles's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kuronoa wants to pass the guard but Charles is keeping the position.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Kuronoa stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Charles swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Kuronoa has gone for a leg lock! Charles slips out almost immediately though and dives into Kuronoa's guard.

Kuronoa throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Charles escapes and throws Kuronoa's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Kuronoa tries to improve his position but Charles has taken his back! Charles has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Kuronoa tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Charles pushes Kuronoa away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
