Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ricardo Castillo (ranked 541 p4p, 71 weight class) and Gniewomir Lach (ranked 358 p4p, 52 weight class). Lach has chosen Soel as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ricardo Castillo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Gniewomir Lach!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Taro Takaoka and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Castillo misses with a body shot
and Lach counters with a lovely straight right hand!


It looks like Ricardo Castillo has been cut.
Castillo looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Castillo throws a chopping leg kick but Lach manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Lach keeps the fight on the outside.
Lach uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Castillo.
Castillo moves out of range of the body kick from Lach.
Ricardo Castillo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lach ducks under a wild hook from Castillo.
Lach lands with a right hand.
Castillo fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Lach.
Castillo lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.


It looks like Gniewomir Lach has been cut.
Castillo looks to throw the jab but Lach is out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Castillo throws a lazy right hand but Lach sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Lach takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Castillo, as that shot connected.


That has opened up Gniewomir Lach's cut even more.
Lach scores with a nice head shot.
Castillo looks to throw the jab but Lach is out of range.
Castillo keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Lach.
Castillo throws a looping overhand right but Lach ducks down to avoid it.
A decent looking cross lands there for Castillo.
Lach throws a lazy right hand but Castillo sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Castillo, right into the meat.
Castillo misses with a straight right.
Castillo throws a leg kick
and Lach counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Castillo cracks Lach with a big right hand and Lach goes down!


Lach is rocked!

Castillo advances position into side control!
Lach is still in real trouble! Can Castillo finish him?

Castillo tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Castillo is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Lach will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Lach manages to work his way to half guard, despite Castillo's best efforts.
Lach seems to have recovered his senses.
Castillo is pressing down on Lach's thigh, looking to free his foot. Lach is holding on for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lach tries to get to full guard but Castillo has control of the leg.

Castillo passes the guard and advances to mount!
Castillo tries to take his opponent's back but Lach turns with him and manages to move into guard on the top. Nice work.

Lach won't allow Castillo to sweep him here.

Lach is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lach is continuing to stall.
Lach trying to control but Castillo is working from the bottom.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Lach sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Castillo keeping moving, preventing Lach from controlling successfully.
Castillo wants to control the position but Lach says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Castillo is looking for a sweep. Lach is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Lach is looking to take a break and control but Castillo is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Castillo's corner calls for a 1-2. Castillo obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
A big right from Castillo misses.
Castillo looks to land a right hand but Lach moved out of range.
Lach looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Castillo sizes up Lach with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Lach moves out of range of the strikes.
Lach appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.
Castillo misses with an uppercut.
Castillo lands with a shot to the body.
Castillo fails to land with a series of punches.
Castillo tries to move into range but Lach moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Castillo is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Lach can do to turn this around?

Castillo lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.


The cut above Gniewomir Lach's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Castillo closes the distance and clinches.
Castillo slowing the pace effectively.
Lach lands with a right to the head.
Lach working aggressively here.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Lach creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Castillo tries to land a knee to the head but Lach blocks with his arms.

Lach's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Castillo throws an overhand right that drops Lach like a sack of potatoes! Castillo dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!
