Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Chris Kriss!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Justin Purcell!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Micheangelo Fripello and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Purcell scores with a takedown into Kriss's guard.

Purcell sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Kriss's guard.
Kriss on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Kriss tries to get out of the position.

Purcell is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Kriss defends it well.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Kriss has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Purcell is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Purcell ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Purcell no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Kriss looks to land a combination but Purcell avoids it well.

Despite the aggression on Purcell's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

Kriss was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Purcell throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kriss's waist but Kriss gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Purcell off to one side.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Kriss throws a looping overhand right but Purcell ducks down to avoid it.

Kriss throws a series of punches but Purcell avoids them all with ease.

Kriss displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Purcell.
Purcell uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Kriss.
Kriss lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Kriss on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Kriss cracks Purcell with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Kriss throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Kriss takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Purcell moves out of range as Kriss strikes.
Purcell tries to clinch up but Kriss circles away and keeps his distance.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
