The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Frank Dennis and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gardner throws a right and a left that Head avoids nicely.
Head looks to land a left hand but Gardner moved out of range nicely.
Head misses with an uppercut.
Gardner takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.


It looks like Richard Head has been cut.
Head misses with a body shot
letting Gardner counter with a right hand.
Head works the jab nicely.


It looks like Anton Gardner has been cut.
Head dodges the punch combination from Gardner.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Head misses with a hook. Gardner ducked under it nicely.
Gardner is looking for the big counter here.
Head throws a lazy uppercut
and Gardner connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Head throws a right hand that misses
and Gardner counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Head thinking.
A slow jab from Gardner misses its intended target.

Gardner lands with a straight right. Head didn't see that one coming.
Head looks to throw the jab but Gardner is out of range.
Gardner lands with an uppercut that bounces Head off the cage and back into range.

Head ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Gardner moves away.
A decent looking cross lands there for Gardner.
Head just misses with a punch to the body.
Gardner looks like he wants to counter punch here.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Head throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Gardner on the side of the head.
Head moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Gardner fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Gardner scores with the left hand. Head knows he should have avoided that one.
Head takes one on the button.


Richard Head's cut is getting worse.
Gardner ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Head closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Gardner looks to land a combination but Head avoids it well.

Head lands a big right hand that sends Gardner crashing to the mat! Head stays standing though and waves Gardner back to his feet!


Gardner is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Head throws a body punch but Gardner moves out of range.
Gardner swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Gardner is still on wobbly legs! Can Head finish him?
Gardner connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Head's hands.
Gardner seems to have recovered his senses.
Head misses with a hook to the body

and Gardner counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Head throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Nice uppercut there from Gardner.


Richard Head's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.

Gardner cracks Head with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Gardner has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Head to stand back up!


Head is rocked!

Head cracks Gardner with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Gardner looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Head finish him?
A looping hook to the body misses from Head. Gardner does a little dance to reset his feet.

and Gardner connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Gardner looks to score with a jab to the body but Head is just out of range.

Gardner lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Anton Gardner dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
That's time! Head's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Head throws a hook but Gardner blocks it.

Jeez, Richard Head's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
Gardner throws a shot from downtown. Head moves away and avoids it.
Richard Head seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Donk. Gardner catches Head right on the button with a cross.

Oooooh!!! Gardner has knocked Head down with a huge combo! Gardner steps away and waves a wobbly Head back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Oh Head is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Richard Head's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:06 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Anton Gardner!
