Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tom Boss (ranked 5194 p4p, 389 weight class) and Pascal Oaza (ranked 5222 p4p, 390 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tom Boss!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Pascal Oaza!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Daniel Franklin and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Boss feints and as Oaza raises his hands in defense, Boss changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Oaza trying to control the position.
Oaza can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Boss controls the pace.
Boss trying to control but Oaza is working from the bottom.
Oaza wants to sweep but no luck.

Oaza throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Boss escapes and throws Oaza's legs to the side, diving into side control!
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Oaza can do anything to dispel that myth.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Boss tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Boss throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Boss wants to control but Oaza is keeping him busy.
Oaza tries to improve position but can't.
Boss wants to stand but Oaza has his arm trapped.
Boss controlling the position from side mount.
Boss prevents Oaza from escaping the position.
Oaza is trying to get back to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Boss wants to stand but Oaza is controlling his arm.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Oaza tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Boss paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Boss darts in looking for a takedown but Oaza gets double underhooks and turns Boss into the cage.
Boss showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Oaza.

Boss shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Oaza manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Oaza is trying to control the position but Boss postures up.
Oaza is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Oaza has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Boss sitting in guard, not really doing much.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Boss has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Boss shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Boss showed some decent athleticism there.
Oaza manages to get to full guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Boss wants to get up but he can't break Oaza's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Boss gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Oaza gets a clinch.

Boss's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Oaza gets a double leg takedown into Boss's guard.
Oaza controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Oaza forces his way into half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Oaza is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Boss has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Oaza controlling the pace for now.
Boss sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Oaza tries to stand and escape but Boss is controlling the position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Boss is trying to maintain the position but Oaza is very close to passing his half guard.
Oaza is trying to control. Boss wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Boss has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Oaza escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Oaza!

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Boss is trying to control Oaza's posture but Oaza avoids it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pascal Oaza showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!



Boss manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Oaza on his heels. He'll look to pass Oaza's guard now, I'm sure.

Oaza has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Boss can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Oaza pulls Boss in close to his closed guard and prevents Boss from doing any damage or advancing position.
Boss works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Boss is taking a breather. Oaza says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Boss trying to control from Oaza's half guard. Oaza has other ideas though and has regained full guard.

Oaza blocking the ground and pound attempt from Boss.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Oaza tries to roll over but Boss keeps him under control.
Pascal Oaza has got the better of the ground game so far.
Boss seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Nice takedown defense from Oaza. No joy for Boss on that attempt.

Boss closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Oaza to the mat! Oaza manages to get full guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Oaza controls Boss momentarily but Boss frees himself.
Boss stands up over Oaza, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Oaza lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Boss looking for a sweep. Not yet Boss, not yet.

And that's the end of the fight!
Tom Boss showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Boss has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
