Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Santiago Salazar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, El Matador!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Frank Dennis and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matador moves in looking to clinch but Salazar pushes him off.
Salazar is looking to counter the offense by Matador and move into the clinch.

Salazar is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Matador's half guard.
Salazar looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

Salazar is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Salazar is controlling the pace.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Salazar is trying to work for a kimura but Matador is defending well.

Well, if Salazar is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Matador is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Salazar pulls his head out easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Salazar is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Matador is just riding it out for now. Salazar eventually gives up the hold.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Matador is trying is best to control the position here.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Salazar shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Matador's guard.
Salazar seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Salazar got a little sloppy there for a moment and Matador has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Salazar has managed to get both his arms back between Matador's legs - danger averted.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Salazar stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Matador swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Salazar wants to control from the top but Matador keeps moving.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Santiago Salazar dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Salazar feints and as Matador raises his hands in defense, Salazar changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Salazar is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Salazar passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Salazar thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Matador is not content to let Salazar control the position.
Matador prevents Salazar from improving position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Salazar is looking to take a break and control but Matador is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Salazar gets to mount! Matador was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.

Salazar goes for an armbar but Matador turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Matador.

Matador postures up in Salazar's guard and throws a big left but Salazar blocks it.

Salazar looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Salazar has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Matador avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Salazar wants to sweep here but Matador controlling him for the moment.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Matador is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Salazar has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Matador is looking to defend but Salazar has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Matador! Salazar pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Matador taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:29 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Santiago Salazar!
