Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Fabinho Tavares!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Thiago Cunha and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Jones throwing a counter right hand but Tavares manages to avoid it.
Jones displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Tavares.
A little feinted left hand from Jones on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
The fighters circle momentarily. Jones darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Jones jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Jones has Tavares up against the cage in a clinch.
Jones lands a shot to the body.
Tavares fails to pull guard.
Jones lands with a right to the head.
Tavares drops down looking for an ankle pick but Jones pulls his leg out and moves away.
Paul Jones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fabinho Tavares.
Tavares tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Tavares tries to keep at a distance but Jones has taken the fight into the clinch.

Jones breaks the clinch.
Jones lands with a hook. Tavares tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Tavares throws a head kick that misses.

Tavares tries to land a front kick but Jones steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Jones lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Tavares backs up against the cage.
Tavares on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Tavares throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
It looked like Jones wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Jones ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Tavares moves away.
Jones fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Tavares to the ground. Jones is now in Tavares's guard.

Tavares looking for a guillotine here but Jones defends easily.
Jones not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Jones knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Tavares on the ground.

Jones has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Tavares to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Jones is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Tavares pulls down on the head and he's put Jones to sleep! This one is all over!
