Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rodrigues Sitsongrit (ranked 5199 p4p, 0 weight class) and Uadab Santiago (ranked 6007 p4p, 419 weight class). The key to victory for Rodrigues Sitsongrit has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Santiago takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Sitsongrit lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Santiago shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Sitsongrit as he jumps to the side.
Santiago shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Santiago's coach down at Cozad MMA Rio was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Santiago's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Santiago darts in looking for a takedown but Sitsongrit gets double underhooks and turns Santiago into the cage.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Santiago crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Sitsongrit - the referee stops the clock and Santiago gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Sitsongrit. Santiago manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Santiago has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye.

Santiago shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Sitsongrit is trying to defend but Santiago finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Santiago with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Santiago jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Sitsongrit manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Santiago has an Americana. Sitsongrit didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Santiago is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Santiago hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
