The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva wants to clinch
and Arkan finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
Arkan just misses with a punch to the body.
Silva misses with a double jab
and Arkan counters with an inside leg kick.
Silva on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Arkan lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Arkan looks to land a body kick but Silva moved away.
Silva fails in his attempt to clinch.
Silva throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Arkan pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Silva definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Arkan throws a wild body kick that Silva sees coming a mile off.
Arkan scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Silva keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Arkan swings away with a body shot that misses
and Silva counters with a left to the body.

Arkan takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Arkan goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Silva jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.
Silva rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Arkan moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Arkan shapes to counter with a head kick.
Arkan lands a head kick. Silva smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Silva tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Silva scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Arkan lands a nice looking body shot.
Gilberto Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Silva swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Silva fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Arkan on the side of the head.
Arkan throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Arkan is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Silva.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Silva throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Silva clinches up against the cage.
Silva will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Arkan up against the cage.
Arkan tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Silva is stalling here.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Arkan wants to get back to striking at distance but Silva won't allow it.
Silva tries to stall but Arkan uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Gilberto Silva.
Arkan pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Silva throws a right and a left that both miss.
Arkan is trying to counter with his kicks.

Silva tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Arkan manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Oh Silva is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Silva is breathing heavily.
Arkan lands with a good body shot.
Arkan throws a quick head kick that knocks Silva silly! This fight is all over! What a finish! Arkan is up on the cage, taking in the applause from the crowd.
