The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Quiniou throws a body punch but Vinsson moves out of range.
Vinsson fails with an attempt to clinch.
Quiniou scores with a nice strike.
Quiniou avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Quiniou is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

Quiniou changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Quiniou has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Vinsson is landing a low percentage of strikes.

Vinsson moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Vinsson tries to clinch up but Quiniou circles away and keeps his distance.

Quiniou rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Vinsson moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Vinsson is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at The Forge, so we'll see if he gets out of it.

Quiniou is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Vinsson to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Vinsson shrugs it off.

Quiniou has momentary wrist control but Vinsson slips an elbow through the middle.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Vinsson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Quiniou is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Vinsson is aware though and is defending well.

Quiniou escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Vinsson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Quiniou takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Quiniou is looking to reverse the position.
Quiniou manages to get back to half guard.
Quiniou is refusing to be controlled, as Vinsson sits in half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Vinsson lands strikes from half guard.
Quiniou is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Vinsson's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Vinsson's back!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Vinsson is in a bad position with Quiniou working for a choke. Vinsson manages to spin nicely into guard and the danger is over for the moment.
Quiniou is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Quiniou is looking for a kimura but Vinsson is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Quiniou to get the leverage.

Quiniou wants to pass to mount but Vinsson is defending the position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Quiniou is looking to take a break and control but Vinsson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Quiniou frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Vinsson has worked his way to half guard, taking advantage of Quiniou's lack of action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Vinsson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Quiniou paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Quiniou swings for the body but Vinsson moves out of range.
Vinsson dives in for a single leg takedown but Quiniou sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Vinsson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Quiniou swivels and escapes.
Quiniou thuds a left hand into Vinsson's body.
Vinsson takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Vinsson tries to move into range but Quiniou moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Vinsson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bilal Vinsson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Quiniou scores with a nice head shot.
Vinsson goes for a double leg but Quiniou avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Quiniou continues to drive forward.
Quiniou tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Quiniou bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Vinsson's guard.
