PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Doug Bell (ranked 440 p4p, 59 weight class) and Mika Allu (ranked 527 p4p, 66 weight class). Mika Allu told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 11 - 0, fighting out of New York, Doug Bell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mika Allu!
The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Allu avoids the head kick by Bell.
Bell throws a jab but it's blocked by Allu.
Allu with the counter takedown but Bell avoids it easily.
Bell avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Allu tries to score a power double leg takedown but Bell sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Allu somewhat.
Bell throws a hook to the side of Allu's head but Allu sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Allu shoots for a double leg takedown but Bell sprawls well. He's pushed Allu's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

We've been hearing good reports from Bell's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Well Bell has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
