PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kento Kawamata (ranked 422 p4p, 63 weight class) and Bull Mfer (ranked 563 p4p, 80 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Kento Kawamata has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Kento Kawamata seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kento Kawamata!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 6 - 1, fighting out of London, Bull Mfer!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, James Atkins and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice uppercut lands for Mfer. That snapped Kawamata's head back.
Kawamata moves into range and connects with a jab.
Mfer goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Kawamata is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Mfer.
Mfer misses with a body shot.

Bull Mfer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Kawamata doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Some bone on bone action there as Kawamata checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
It looked like Kawamata was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Mfer.
Mfer has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Mfer in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.

Bull Mfer showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Kawamata is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.

That kick from Mfer tenderised Kawamata's leg. Kawamata is trying to keep his angry face on.

Kawamata sets himself and throws a head kick that knocks Mfer to the ground! Kawamata dives into full mount looking to finish!

That has opened up Bull Mfer's cut even more.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Kawamata is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Mfer has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Mfer is still in real trouble! Can Kawamata finish him?
Mfer tries to hold on but Kawamata pushes him away.
Mfer seems to have recovered his senses.
Kawamata can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Mfer is looking to escape.

Mfer makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Mfer.
