Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Donald Fonald (ranked 6756 p4p, 453 weight class) and Ryan Hall (ranked 7133 p4p, 460 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hall has Fonald up against the cage in a clinch.
Hall tries to throw a body punch but Fonald avoids it by throwing Hall back against the cage.

Hall manages to break the clinch.
Fonald looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

and Hall holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Hall misses with the head strike.
Fonald is trying to pull guard but Hall turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Donald Fonald. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Fonald breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Hall has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Fonald is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Fonald shoots and misses
and Hall counters with a left and a right that stings Fonald.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fonald fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hall manages to avoid it.
Hall lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Hall stuffs the takedown attempt from Fonald. Fonald gets slowly back to his feet.
Donald Fonald seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Fonald shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hall as he jumps to the side.
Hall pounces like a tiger and cracks Fonald with a vicious hook! Fonald is down but not out! Hall follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!
