Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Royce Peyton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Bo Santos!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Winston Alpacca and Bart Greer.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Peyton looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Santos has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Peyton throws a sloppy head kick and Santos moves out of range easily.

Santos fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Peyton to the ground. Santos is now in Peyton's guard.
Peyton trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Peyton is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Santos stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Peyton swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Santos is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Peyton had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Santos defends it easily.
Santos tries to free his leg and advance position but Peyton is retaining full guard.
Peyton will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Peyton tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Peyton is working hard here to advance position.
Santos slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Peyton shoots in and drives through. Santos sprawls well.

Santos drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Santos sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Peyton's guard.

Peyton works his way to full guard. Good work.

Peyton is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Santos controls from within his opponent's guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Santos trying to control the position from guard on top but Peyton is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Santos throws a one two combo.
Santos looks to score with a jab to the body but Peyton is just out of range.
Peyton changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Santos tries to avoid it but Peyton manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Santos to the ground. Santos escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Royce Peyton. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Peyton fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Santos missing with a left hand there. Peyton was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Good exchange - Santos coming out on top.
Santos throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Santos throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Peyton's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Santos dives in looking to finish as Peyton flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Santos's strikes! Santos is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Peyton's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Peyton was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bo Santos!
