Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jackson Kassongo (ranked 3911 p4p, 0 weight class) and Magomedsaid Omarov (ranked 24257 p4p, 0 weight class). Magomedsaid Omarov has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Kassongo.
And Omarov tries to counter it with a takedown but Kassongo pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Kassongo lands a couple of elbows.
Kassongo scoring with some ground and pound.
Kassongo throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Omarov works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Kassongo has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Kassongo throws a big elbow that misses.

Omarov working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kassongo doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kassongo manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Kassongo stands up over Omarov, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Omarov is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Kassongo defends well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Omarov escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kassongo gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Omarov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kassongo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Omarov is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Kassongo is aware though and is defending well.

Kassongo is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Omarov has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Kassongo is looking to defend but Omarov has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Kassongo! Omarov pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Kassongo taps out and this one is all over!
