PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Badr Al Din (ranked 753 p4p, 116 weight class) and Franky Page (ranked 675 p4p, 100 weight class). Al Din comes into the arena with RUNNING BACK blaring out of the sound system. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Badr Al Din!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 16 - 1, fighting out of London, Franky Page!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Al Din misses with an uppercut. Page saw that one coming.
Al Din throws a leg kick that misses.
Page is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

Al Din moves out of range of the strikes.
Al Din uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Page.
As Page backs away, Al Din returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.
Page dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Al Din throws a sloppy head kick and Page moves out of range easily.
Al Din misses with a straight right.
Al Din moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.


It looks like Franky Page has been cut.

Al Din tries to land a front kick but Page steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
A punch lands to the side of Al Din 's head but he takes it in his stride.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Al Din takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Page checks the leg kick.
Page tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Page uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Al Din.

Page fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Al Din sprawls well initially but Page persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Page looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Al Din with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Page connects with a nice short shot to Al Din's temple.
