PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between King Naresuan (ranked 4740 p4p, 96 weight class) and Jose Canseco (ranked 2280 p4p, 224 weight class). Canseco has chosen Lisa Gerrard, Peter Bourke - Meltdown as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, King Naresuan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jose Canseco !
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Nard Betker and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A solid leg kick lands there for Naresuan.
Canseco jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Canseco misses with a double jab.
Canseco looks to throw the jab but Naresuan is out of range.
It looked like Naresuan wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Canseco comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Some wild striking there from Canseco .
Canseco looks to land a combination. Naresuan sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Naresuan throws a body shot but no joy.
A slow jab from Canseco misses its intended target.
Naresuan throws a quick inside leg kick.
Naresuan takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Canseco tries to counter with a clinch but Naresuan shakes him off and moves away.
Naresuan lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Naresuan misses with a series of wild punches.
Canseco lands with a right hand.
Jose Canseco seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Canseco tries to bum rush Naresuan with a series of wild strikes but Naresuan uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
An attempted straight right counter from Naresuan misses the target.
Canseco just misses with a punch to the body.
Naresuan went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Canseco misses with a series of wild punches.
Canseco on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Naresuan. Naresuan obviously looking to wear him down.
Canseco fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Naresuan manages to avoid it.
Naresuan jabs Canseco right on the nose. Canseco blinks but takes it well.

Naresuan looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.

Naresuan swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

A swing and a miss from Canseco .
Naresuan fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Canseco has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Sloppy strikes from Canseco . Those never looked like landing.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Canseco throws a right and a left that both miss.
Naresuan throws a front kick that sends Canseco stumbling back into the ropes.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Canseco throws a series of punches but Naresuan avoids them all with ease.
A little feinted left hand from Naresuan on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Naresuan scores with a nice head shot.
Naresuan bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Canseco 's head.
Canseco lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
No joy there for Naresuan, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Naresuan tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Canseco looks to land a left hand but Naresuan moved out of range nicely.
Naresuan scores with a sloppy right hand. Canseco should have avoided that one.
Naresuan looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Canseco misses with a jab, cross combination.
Naresuan tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Canseco misses with a few strikes there.
Naresuan throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Canseco on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Canseco lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Naresuan circles away quickly and effectively.
Naresuan swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Canseco looks winded!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Canseco has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Naresuan.
Canseco misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Canseco just manages to avoid a counter high kick fromNaresuan.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jose Canseco dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Canseco fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Naresuan looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
A nice inside leg kick there by Naresuan. That's going to slow Canseco down.
Canseco throws a nice looking combination but Naresuan bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Naresuan half committed to a counter leg kick.
Naresuan scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Jose Canseco seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Canseco tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Naresuan was well out of range. Poor timing from Canseco .
That kick from Naresuan tenderised Canseco 's leg. Canseco is trying to keep his angry face on.
Naresuan fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Canseco on the side of the head.
Naresuan drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Canseco scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Canseco drops his hands momentarily and Naresuan takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Nice defenses there by Naresuan.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

A punch combination from Canseco misses.
Canseco will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Naresuan throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Canseco throws a hook to the side of Naresuan's head but Naresuan sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Canseco lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Naresuan circles away quickly and effectively.

Canseco has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Naresuan lands with a hook. Canseco tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Canseco takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Naresuan closes the distance and catches Canseco with a lead hook that drops him to the canvas! Canseco is clearly dazed and struggling here! 3,4,5,6,7 and Canseco is up to his feet but the referee has called it off! Canseco is still far too wobbly and he's not going to allow the fight to continue! Naresuan takes it!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:28 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). King Naresuan!
A relieved looking King Naresuan thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
In defeat, Jose Canseco stepped up to the mic, saying 'Fucking CTE'.
