Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Rendi Kurton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Tank Abbott Tribute!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Aafke Stam and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kurton is trying hard to land a takedown here. Tribute sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Tribute ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kurton moves away.
Tribute throws an off balance right hand

so Kurton counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Kurton controlling from the top position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kurton loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Kurton gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Tribute stuffs the takedown.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kurton avoids the body shot from Tribute.
Tribute slips a jab and a cross from Kurton.
Tribute throws a looping overhand right but Kurton ducks down to avoid it.
Kurton has been working on his balance at Iron Man (Fitness & Sparring), so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Tribute.

Tribute gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Kurton wants to pass the guard but Tribute is keeping the position.

Kurton stands up and waves to Tribute to follow him.

Kurton pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Tribute throws a body shot but no joy.
Tribute scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.

Kurton gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Kurton slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Kurton has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Kurton cracks Tribute with an open hand slap.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Tribute swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Tribute ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Tribute stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Kurton throws a leg kick but Tribute sees it coming and moves out of range.
Tribute is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Kurton with a body shot.
Tribute connects with a crisp jab.
Kurton fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rendi Kurton. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Tribute misses the shot to the body.
Kurton misses with a straight left.
Tank Abbott Tribute is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Kurton pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Kurton really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Tribute thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Kurton not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Kurton takes one to the side of the head.
Tribute throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Kurton moves away from the strike by Tribute.
Kurton takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Kurton closes this distance looking for a takedown but Tribute circles away.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Rendi Kurton will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

It looks like Rendi Kurton has been cut.
Kurton slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tribute wants to get back to his feet but Kurton is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Kurton advances to half guard.
Tribute won't allow Kurton to pass to mount.

Kurton is looking for a kimura but Tribute is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Kurton to get the leverage.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
A looping hook to the body misses from Tribute. Kurton does a little dance to reset his feet.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Kurton drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Tribute avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Kurton.
Tribute tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kurton was well out of range. Poor timing from Tribute.

and Kurton counters with a nice body shot.
A telegraphed right hand from Tribute misses the target.
Tribute scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

Kurton clinches up with Tribute and pushes him back against the cage.
Tribute misses with a punch on the inside.

Kurton has his hands on Tribute's head, controlling the position.

Kurton is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Tribute defends well.
Tribute cracks Kurton with a solid left hand.
Kurton is pulling down on Tribute's head to control his posture.
Tribute wants to control from the top but Kurton keeps moving.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Kurton looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Tribute trying to control the position from guard on top but Kurton is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Tribute looking to sit in guard and control but Kurton gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Kurton pushes down on Tribute's leg and manages to get into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tribute stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Tribute wants it to stay on the feet.
Tribute fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kurton manages to avoid it.

Kurton takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Tribute is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Kurton rather than just go for the knockout.

Tribute measures up his opponent and throws a superman punch that connects to the jaw! Down goes Kurton! The ref steps in, and that's the ball game folks!
