Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Deontay Fury (ranked 4115 p4p, 345 weight class) and James Cook (ranked 7052 p4p, 458 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Deontay Fury!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, James Cook!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Gregory Folan and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fury takes a kick to the side of the head.
Fury shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Fury misses with a takedown
and Cook counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Fury tries a low kick but Cook avoids it.
Cook tries to bum rush Fury with a series of wild strikes but Fury uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
No luck for Fury with that takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Deontay Fury. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Fury instigates a clinch.
I was talking to Fury's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Fury successfully pulls guard.
Fury is pulling down on Cook's head to control his posture.
Fury lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Fury slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Cook really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Fury. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Cook is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Fury not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Fury seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Cook for as long as he can get away with.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Cook wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Fury is now in half guard.

Fury shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Cook but Cook pushes him off and we're back to square one.
James Cook is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Cook scores with a kick to the midsection.

Fury dives in and grabs Cook's left leg, looking for a takedown. Cook pushes down on Fury's head and hops out.

Cook lands with a kick to the temple. Fury shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Fury misses with a takedown attempt - Cook sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Cook stuffs the takedown attempt from Fury. Fury gets slowly back to his feet.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Fury is defended easily by Cook.
Fury blocks a jab.
Fury shoots in and drives through. Cook sprawls well.
And Cook tries to counter it with a takedown but Fury pushes his down on his head and steps out.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Fury.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

James Cook dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!



Fury rushes Cook and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Cook tries to stall but Fury uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Fury ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Fury no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Fury is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Fury is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Cook!

Fury is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Cook to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Cook shrugs it off.

It looks like James Cook has been cut.

Cook defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Fury.
Fury takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Cook tries to control the position but Fury now has his back.

Cook is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Fury throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Fury is on top in guard.

Cook looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Fury puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Fury looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

Fury working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Fury postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Cook looks a forlorn figure.


Cook is rocked!
Fury sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Cook is still in real trouble! Can Fury finish him?
Cook is looking to improve his position but Fury isn't that keen on the idea.
Fury postures up and throws a big right hand. BOOM! Right on the button! Cook is out cold - huge knockout for Fury!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Deontay Fury!
Deontay Fury looked relieved post fight as he said the following; 'I wanted this win badly and I worked for it. He wasn't ready for my game. I'm coming after the belt and I'll clean the division out to get to it. '.
