And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Maggot Soup!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Dirk Anderson and Peter Branson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Soup tries to sprawl but Tidd drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Soup has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Island Hammers Fight Camp. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.
Soup moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Tidd's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Tidd landing with the ground and pound.
Soup is trying to control the position but Tidd postures up.
Tidd with a flurry of punches that miss.
Soup is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Tidd preventing the sweep.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Soup utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Tidd landing with the ground and pound.
Tidd chips away with some ground and pound.

Tidd loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Tidd looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Tidd cracks Soup with a solid left hand.
Tidd working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Soup is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Soup prevents Tidd from improving his position.
Tidd is refusing to be controlled, as Soup sits in half guard.
Tidd wants to get back to full guard.

Soup is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Tidd sees it coming and defends easily.

Soup in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Tidd tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Soup!
