Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Thundering Mantis (ranked 2530 p4p, 147 weight class) and Sandro Marques (ranked 4289 p4p, 218 weight class). Marques has chosen Pimp as his entrance music. Thundering Mantis has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Michael Johnstone and Sandra Marshall.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mantis thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Marques if he has to take too many more of those.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Mantis scores with a nice hook to the head.
Marques is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Marques is trying to break the clinch but Mantis is controlling him.
Mantis pushes Marques back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Nice elbow from Mantis.

It looks like Sandro Marques has been cut.
Marques is looking to break free of the clinch but Mantis has double underhooks.
Mantis scores with a hook to the body.
Mantis lands a good knee to the midsection. Marques won't want to take too many of those.
Marques is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Mantis.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Marques has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Mantis pushes Marques back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Mantis digs a right hand into Marques's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Marques's gas tank.
Marques looks winded!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Marques wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Marques wants to get back to striking at distance but Mantis won't allow it.
Mantis definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Mantis.

Nice body punch from Mantis - that landed with a thud.
Mantis scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Mantis lands with a light punch inside.

Marques is rocked!
Mantis pushes Marques against the cage. Mantis is working some dirty boxing. Mantis pushes off with a quick right hook! Marques goes down! Marques tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! Mantis moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!
