The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Perry darts in trying to clinch

and Diggery counters with a single leg into guard. Perry didn't expect that.

Perry has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Diggery has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Perry.

Perry tries to pull guard but Diggery holds him up against the cage and eventually Perry drops back down to his feet.
Diggery displaying some good clinch control by pressing Perry up against the cage.

Perry trying to control the position but instead, Diggery has worked for underhooks and has pushed Perry into the cage.

Perry jumps into guard, dragging Diggery to the mat.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Diggery postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Perry is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Diggery stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Perry swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Diggery throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Perry works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Perry looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Diggery with a flurry of punches that miss.
Perry is trying to hold Diggery in close to prevent damage but Diggery has managed to pass into half guard.
Diggery prevents Perry from standing back up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Diggery not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Diggery is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Diggery is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Perry!
