Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Butch Thighpunch (ranked 1048 p4p, 141 weight class) and Chad Smith (ranked 926 p4p, 125 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
10 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Butch Thighpunch!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chad Smith!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Aleksandr Martynov and Ivan Kurochkin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thighpunch uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Smith has time to react.
Smith misses with a few strikes there.
Thighpunch swings for the body but Smith moves out of range.
Smith tests Thighpunch's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Smith moves into the clinch.
Smith misses with the head strike.
Thighpunch stalling in the clinch but Smith improves position.
Thighpunch working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Thighpunch ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Smith moves away.

Thighpunch looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

and Thighpunch counters with a straight right hand.
It looks like Chad Smith has been cut.
Thighpunch avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Thighpunch takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Thighpunch looks to score with a jab to the body but Smith is just out of range.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Smith connects with a right hand. Thighpunch shakes it off.
Thighpunch comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Thighpunch is looking to wear down Smith with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Smith rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Thighpunch moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Smith thuds his right hand into Thighpunch's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
A lazy left from Smith finds it's target.
Smith misses with a hook. Thighpunch ducked under it nicely.
Smith dips to his left and cracks Thighpunch with an uppercut!
Thighpunch is rocked!
Smith closes the distance and lands a brutal uppercut that knocks Thighpunch out! We're looking at the replay now - he was out before he hit the floor!
