Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Alceu Barbosa (ranked 2790 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ruddo Ryokale (ranked 4167 p4p, 0 weight class). Ruddo Ryokale has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Alceu Barbosa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ruddo Ryokale!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, David Hoff and Sandra Marshall.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ryokale shoots in looking for a takedown but Barbosa manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Ryokale's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Barbosa tests Ryokale's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Ryokale ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Barbosa moves away.
Ryokale takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Barbosa cracks Ryokale with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Barbosa scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Barbosa throws a body punch but Ryokale moves out of range.
Barbosa has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Buoy Training in the buildup to the fight.
Ryokale misses with a takedown
and Barbosa counters with a straight right hand.

It looks like Ruddo Ryokale has been cut.
Ryokale has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Ryokale there as he acknowledges the shot.

Ryokale is rocked!
Barbosa lands with a shot to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Barbosa connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Ryokale is still on wobbly legs! Can Barbosa finish him?
Alceu Barbosa has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ruddo Ryokale.

Ryokale tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Barbosa makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Barbosa enables Ryokale to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Barbosa manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ryokale looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Ryokale seems to have recovered his senses.
Barbosa knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ryokale on the ground.
Barbosa is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Ryokale sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Barbosa's guard.
Ryokale seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Barbosa does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Ryokale looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Barbosa with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Ryokale throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Barbosa on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Barbosa tries to get out of the position.

Barbosa tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Ryokale wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Ryokale tries for a kimura but Barbosa is defending well.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Ryokale happy to just control the position for now.
Barbosa is working to avoid the ground and pound but Ryokale connects with a decent elbow.
Barbosa is not content to let Ryokale control the position.

Ryokale is working to tighten his grip on Barbosa's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Barbosa has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Ryokale is really squeezing tight and eventually Barbosa passes out! Ryokale breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
