Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Coiote Magrin (ranked 2199 p4p, 268 weight class) and Michael Cruz (ranked 1059 p4p, 141 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Coiote Magrin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Michael Cruz!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Shirou Masuda and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Magrin moves into the clinch.
Cruz goes for a takedown in the clinch but Magrin prevents it.
Magrin blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Cruz breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Cruz connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

Magrin gets caught napping as Cruz dives in and scores a takedown. Magrin manages to retain guard.
Cruz loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Magrin is looking for a triangle here but Cruz uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Cruz goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Magrin has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Cruz but great work by Magrin.
Cruz felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Cruz sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Cruz is looking for a sweep. Magrin is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Magrin content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Magrin is trying to work for a kimura but Cruz is defending well.

Magrin is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Cruz is just riding it out for now. Magrin eventually gives up the hold.
Cruz misses with some strikes from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Cruz landing a few short strikes.
Magrin seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Cruz does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Cruz is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Magrin's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Magrin's back!
Magrin is defending well here and trying to improve his position.

Magrin covers up after taking a massive shot to the side of the head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cruz is not going to allow Magrin to sit and survive in this position.
Cruz doesn't have the hooks in and Magrin manages to turn into his guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Magrin trying to control the position from guard on top but Cruz is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Cruz escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Magrin gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Cruz wants to hit a switch here but Magrin passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Cruz there!

Cruz tries to lock up and control but Magrin gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Magrin is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Cruz has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Cruz bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Magrin is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Cruz works over Magrin with some ground and pound from guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Michael Cruz dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Cruz moves in looking to clinch but Magrin pushes him off.
Magrin seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.

Cruz takes the fight into the clinch.

Cruz bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Magrin's guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cruz wants to control from the top but Magrin keeps moving.
Magrin is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Magrin is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Cruz rolls with it to try and escape but Magrin cranks on the arm and Cruz is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:31 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Coiote Magrin!
Coiote Magrin seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
Michael Cruz was interviewed post fight and said 'Ill come back stronger than ever!'.
