Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Moganesh Jain (ranked 411 p4p, 26 weight class) and Killer Kidd (ranked 221 p4p, 12 weight class). Jain comes into the arena with The Monkey King blaring out of the sound system. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Moganesh Jain!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 0 - 3, fighting out of Las Vegas, Killer Kidd!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Hugh Johnson and Ron Honeybunn.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
That kick from Kidd tenderised Jain's leg. Jain is trying to keep his angry face on.

Jain dives in and scores a takedown into Kidd's guard.
Kidd is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Jain sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Kidd's guard.
Jain is pressing down on Kidd's thigh, looking to free his foot. Kidd is holding on for now.
Jain has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jain avoids the attempt from Kidd to control.

Jain moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Kidd has worked his arm free - good work by Kidd!
Jain has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Kidd!

Kidd is squirming around, avoiding Jain's attempts to control the action.
Jain wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it.

Kidd tries to lock up and control but Jain gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jain can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Kidd is looking to escape.

Jain goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Kidd turns into him and now he's in Jain's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jain is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

And Kidd responds with a good body kick, but Jain manages to step out the way in time.

Jain drops down looking for a counter takedown but Kidd sprawls and moves away.
Jain throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Kidd sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Jain moves to clinch but Kidd breaks away
and Kidd makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Jain really felt that one!

so Jain counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Jain is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at The Clinic, so we'll see if he gets out of it.
Jain is staying active underneath Kidd, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Moganesh Jain overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Killer Kidd is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Jain swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Jain is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Jain's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Kidd connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Jain scrambles back to his feet.

Kidd throws a lazy right hand but Jain sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Kidd bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Kidd thumps Jain with a low kick.
Jain misses with a takedown attempt
and Kidd connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Kidd ducks right into an uppercut from Jain.
Kidd gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Kidd throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Kidd uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Jain closes the distance and clinches.
Kidd wants to break the clinch but can't.
Jain misses with a punch to the body.
Jain has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Kidd after a bit of a struggle.
Kidd lands with a short shot to the head.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kidd misses with a punch on the inside.

It looked like Jain wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Jain throws an overhand right that lands on Kidd's shoulder, as Kidd tries to avoid the shot.

Kidd lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Kidd lunges at Jain with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Jain's hand.

Killer Kidd seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Kidd shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kidd lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

I think Kidd has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
