Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, James Stormchaser!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Giuseppe Turturro!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Radbod Blank and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stormchaser throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Turturro.
Turturro throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
It looked like Stormchaser wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Stormchaser takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Stormchaser plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Stormchaser throws the left hand but Turturro avoids the punch easily.
James Stormchaser seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Turturro ducks right into an uppercut from Stormchaser.
Stormchaser throws a series of punches but Turturro avoids them all with ease.
Stormchaser misses the shot to the body.
Stormchaser swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Turturro throws a sloppy head kick and Stormchaser moves out of range easily.
Turturro misses with a head kick.
Turturro tries a head kick but it misses.
Stormchaser avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Stormchaser is looking to counter with a body kick.
Stormchaser tests Turturro's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Stormchaser blocks a head kick by Turturro.
Turturro's coach down at Crassus was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Turturro's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Turturro moves out of range of the body kick.
A bone on bone clash there as Stormchaser blocks the leg kick.
Stormchaser throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A punch combination from Stormchaser misses.

Turturro darts in and clinches Stormchaser up against the cage.
Turturro tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Stormchaser smiles and moves away.
Turturro throws out a leg kick but Stormchaser moves out of range and Turturro only half commits.
Stormchaser lands with an uppercut that bounces Turturro off the cage and back into range.
Stormchaser has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Turturro clinches with his opponent.
Turturro is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Stormchaser to keep the fight standing.
Turturro tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Stormchaser smiles and moves away.
James Stormchaser has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Giuseppe Turturro.
Stormchaser throws a shot from downtown. Turturro moves away and avoids it.
Turturro throws a hook but Stormchaser avoids it easily.
Stormchaser throws a lazy right hand but Turturro sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Stormchaser does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Turturro moves into the clinch successfully.
Turturro fails to pull guard.
Turturro jumps guard but Stormchaser turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Turturro jumps into guard, dragging Stormchaser to the mat.
Stormchaser has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Turturro keeping moving, preventing Stormchaser from controlling successfully.

Turturro has his foot on Stormchaser's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Stormchaser works his way back into a safe position though.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Turturro has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Stormchaser doesn't defend quickly enough and Turturro has managed to lock this one up! Can Stormchaser escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Turturro on a fantastic submission victory.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Giuseppe Turturro!
Giuseppe Turturro decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
