CACC 51 PBP Commentary


Coming up we have a featherweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Bazar Al Jhit (ranked 4960 p4p, 369 weight class) and Peter Smith (ranked 3686 p4p, 325 weight class). Al Jhit comes into the arena with What May Safely Be Written blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the featherweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Montreal, with a TWGC record of 2 wins and 1 losses; Bazar Al Jhit! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 3 wins and 6 losses; Peter Smith!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.


The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.

Smith shoots in and bounces Al Jhit off the ropes to secure the takedown into guard.

Smith told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Al Jhit manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Smith manages to get himself to full guard.

Smith drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Smith jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Smith drops back looking for a leg! Al Jhit is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Al Jhit manages to kick Smith off! Smith jumps back into Al Jhit's guard.

Al Jhit has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Smith can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Al Jhit working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Smith doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Smith manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
