PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Solomon Bundy (ranked 2009 p4p, 196 weight class) and Pupuki Namasuzuki (ranked 2386 p4p, 231 weight class). Namasuzuki comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Stand By Me- Ben King kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Pupuki Namasuzuki is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Joseph Jones and Chad Campbell.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Namasuzuki turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
A big right from Namasuzuki misses.
The fighters circle momentarily. Namasuzuki darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Namasuzuki throws a body punch but Bundy moves out of range.
Bundy motions for Namasuzuki to come forward. Bundy throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Namasuzuki takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

It looks like Pupuki Namasuzuki has been cut.
Bundy moves out of range of the strikes.
Bundy throws a body kick that misses
and Namasuzuki counters with a stiff right hand.
Namasuzuki connects with a body shot that sends Bundy's belly button to the back.
Namasuzuki lands a nice leg kick that just misses Bundy's sensitive parts.
Bundy throws an overhand right that lands on Namasuzuki's shoulder, as Namasuzuki tries to avoid the shot.
Bundy lands with an uppercut that bounces Namasuzuki off the cage and back into range.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Namasuzuki doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Bundy takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Oooooh!!! Namasuzuki has knocked Bundy down with a huge combo! Namasuzuki steps away and waves a wobbly Bundy back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Namasuzuki's coach down at MMA Dojo (Top Gym in Tokyo*) was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Namasuzuki's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Bundy changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Bundy lands the left hand.
Bundy misses the shot to the body.

Namasuzuki lands a big right hand that sends Bundy crashing to the mat! Namasuzuki stays standing though and waves Bundy back to his feet!

Oh Bundy is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Namasuzuki throws an uppercut from hell that sends Bundy clean off his feet! He's out cold! Namasuzuki stands back and admires his work as he thinks about that KO of the night award that is surely being wrapped up for him back stage.
