PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Marshall Jefferson (ranked 717 p4p, 101 weight class) and Jaxon Stoner (ranked 1314 p4p, 175 weight class). Jefferson comes into the arena with Skrr computers blaring out of the sound system. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Marshall Jefferson!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jaxon Stoner!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Igor Prikhodko and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jefferson connects with a good right hand that stumbles Stoner. Stoner circles away out of range and recomposes himself.


It looks like Jaxon Stoner has been cut.
Jefferson throws a chopping leg kick but Stoner manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
A jab from Jefferson misses.
Stoner drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Jefferson defends it well.
Jefferson throws a body shot but no joy.

A looping hook to the body misses from Jefferson. Stoner does a little dance to reset his feet.

Jefferson throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Stoner stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Stoner's coach down at was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Stoner's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Marshall Jefferson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Stoner moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jefferson connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
