Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bob The Man (ranked 652 p4p, 771 weight class) and Long Thai (ranked 76 p4p, 90 weight class). Long Thai will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Long Thai!

Thai got a little sloppy there for a moment and The Man has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Thai has managed to get both his arms back between The Man's legs - danger averted.
Thai must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The Man working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Thai doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Thai manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
We've been hearing good reports from The Man's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

That was a close round but I would say that Bob The Man will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Long Thai is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

The Man throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Thai was covering up waiting for the punch and The Man finishes the takedown easily into guard.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Thai really doesn't want to stay on the ground with The Man. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The Man is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The Man's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The Man makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Thai wants to get back to his feet but The Man is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells The Man's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

The Man throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Thai stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Thai uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before The Man has time to react.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The Man cracks a nice hook into Thai's ribs.
Thai tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. The Man manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

No luck with that takedown attempt from The Man.

The Man takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

and Thai holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

It looks like Bob The Man has been cut.

Long Thai has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Still in the clinch, The Man scores with a nice short uppercut.
Thai has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. The Man seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Thai can turn it around.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Bob The Man.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for The Man, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
