PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tedy BB (ranked 3171 p4p, 119 weight class) and Opel Astra (ranked 3209 p4p, 122 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Opel Astra!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Stewart Dunkirk and Daniel Franklin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

BB forces Astra back against the cage and clinches.

BB's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
BB throws a series of punches but Astra moves out of range.
No luck for Astra with that takedown attempt.
BB fails in his attempt to clinch.

Astra has taken the fight to the clinch.
BB is trying to maintain a safe position but Astra gets an underhook and turns BB into the cage.
Astra displaying some good clinch control by pressing BB up against the cage.
BB prevents a takedown attempt there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Astra gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from BB.
Astra will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning BB up against the cage.

Astra wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but BB has him pressed against the cage.
Astra is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

BB breaks from the clinch.
BB moves in looking to clinch but Astra pushes him off.
BB checks the leg kick.
Astra jabs BB right on the nose. BB blinks but takes it well.
Astra dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
BB fails with a takedown attempt.

Astra closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Astra lands in his opponent's guard.

BB is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Astra can't break the clinch.
Astra gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from BB.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tedy BB. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Astra looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
BB is looking to control Astra's arms but Astra gets an underhook and turns him. Now BB has his back to the cage.
Astra is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. BB is defending well for now.
Astra is pressed up against the cage. BB has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Astra down to the mat. Astra avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Astra instigates a clinch.

BB pulls guard effortlessly.
Astra wants to control from the top but BB keeps moving.
Astra tries to stand but BB is controlling from the bottom.
BB will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
BB trying to keep a closed guard but Astra is proving a slippery customer.

BB wriggles free and stands up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
BB swings for the body but Astra moves out of range.
Astra shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with BB but BB pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Astra dives in and grabs BB's left leg, looking for a takedown. BB pushes down on Astra's head and hops out.
Astra misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
No luck with that takedown attempt from BB.
BB has his takedown stuffed
and Astra counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Astra fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

BB gets tackled into the cage by Astra. Astra maintains the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Tedy BB will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

BB closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - BB lands in his opponent's guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
BB is looking to work some ground and pound but Astra has wrist control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
BB engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Astra should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
BB has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

BB slips nicely into half guard.

BB decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
BB takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Astra shoots in for a takedown but BB shows good takedown defense.
Horrible takedown attempt by BB or perhaps it was just good defense by Astra, which made it look bad.
Astra with the counter takedown but BB avoids it easily.
The fight stays on the outside here - BB looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
BB throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Astra shoots in for a double leg but BB sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
BB shoots for a takedown but Astra saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Astra tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Tedy BB has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Opel Astra.
Astra fails to pull guard.
Astra jumps guard but BB turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Astra is looking to break free of the clinch but BB has double underhooks.
BB is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Astra gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

BB gets control of Astra's arms and successfully pulls guard. BB will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
BB is trying to control the position but Astra postures up.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now BB is on top in guard.

Astra wants to sweep here but BB controlling him for the moment.
Astra wants to control but BB passes easily into half guard.
Astra tries to get to full guard but BB has control of the leg.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Astra can do anything to dispel that myth.
Astra wants to control the action here but instead BB manages to pass to full mount!
Astra wants to hold on but BB pushes him away.

BB working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Astra turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips BB off and cradles Astra's limp body as BB celebrates with his corner.
