Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Atticus Finch (ranked 2267 p4p, 250 weight class) and Torry Gomez (ranked 3056 p4p, 321 weight class). Finch comes to the cage accompanied by Ghetto Bird- Ice Cube. Gomez has chosen Pimp Like A Butterfly as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Finch cracks Gomez with a good jab.

I was talking to Finch's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Finch pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Gomez throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Gomez ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Finch moves away.
Gomez misses with a double jab.
A quick step to the side and Finch tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Gomez drops his hands momentarily and Finch takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Finch clinches up with Gomez and pushes him back against the cage.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Finch feints a jab and as Gomez dips his head, Finch unleashes a brutal head kick that catches Gomez right on the jaw! Timbeeer! Gomez falls backwards in slow motion, only propped up by the cage! Finch smiles a psychotic smile as he stares down his unconscious opponent. That is a scary man.
