Vovigton kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is New york kurt angel. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vargas's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Vargas duly obliges.

It looks like Colby Vovigton has been cut.
Vargas stuns Vovigton with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Vargas moves into range and connects with a jab.
Vargas throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Vovigton.
Vovigton shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Vargas as he avoids it easily.
Vargas scores with a hook.

Oooooh!!! Vargas has knocked Vovigton down with a huge combo! Vargas steps away and waves a wobbly Vovigton back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Vargas has cracked Vovigton with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Vargas lands another huge swinging hook and Vovigton tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Vovigton, before Vargas can land any more shots!
