The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Montemies tightens his grip and picks MacDonald up, before dumping him to the ground. MacDonald manages to land in guard.

Montemies is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Montemies escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. MacDonald gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

MacDonald got a little sloppy there for a moment and Montemies has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, MacDonald has managed to get both his arms back between Montemies's legs - danger averted.
MacDonald is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

MacDonald drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Montemies manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now MacDonald has Montemies in his guard.


MacDonald has his foot on Montemies's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Montemies works his way back into a safe position though.
