Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Buster Douglas (ranked 2147 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Dredd (ranked 2125 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Douglas connects with the punch.
Douglas moves out of range as Dredd throws a body kick.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Dredd rushes Douglas and presses him up against the cage.

Dredd jumps into guard, dragging Douglas to the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Douglas stops Dredd from standing up.
Douglas trying to control but Dredd is working from the bottom.
Douglas prevents Dredd from getting back to his feet.
Douglas stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dredd swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Dredd is looking to stand up but Douglas isn't so interested in that idea.

Buster Douglas is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Dredd closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Dredd is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Douglas defends it well.
The fighters are battling for position here. Douglas manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Douglas looking for a guillotine here but Dredd defends easily.

Douglas escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Dredd gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Douglas definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Douglas has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Dredd can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Dredd is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Douglas looking to hit a scissor sweep but Dredd is one step ahead there.
