PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Cezik Tezik (ranked 2718 p4p, 156 weight class) and Murumo Iduna (ranked 6246 p4p, 276 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cezik Tezik!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, George Francis and Robert Twigg.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Iduna darts in and clinches Tezik up against the cage.
Iduna tries for a takedown. No joy.
Iduna is working for takedown but Tezik is calmly controlling the position for now.
Iduna tries to pull guard but Tezik holds him up against the cage and eventually Iduna drops back down to his feet.
Cezik Tezik has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Murumo Iduna.
Iduna is pushing Tezik up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Iduna is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.

Iduna jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Tezik walks away with a smile on his face. Iduna gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Tezik shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Iduna preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Tezik is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Iduna trying to keep a closed guard but Tezik is proving a slippery customer.
Tezik sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Iduna's guard.
Iduna really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Tezik. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Tezik tries to pass to full mount but Iduna defends it.

Tezik stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Iduna swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Iduna looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Tezik stays in close to Iduna's body and controls the position.

Tezik has gone for a leg lock! Iduna slips out almost immediately though and dives into Tezik's guard.

Tezik not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Iduna is looking to sweep but instead, Tezik has passed into half guard.

Tezik lands strikes from half guard.
Tezik is taking a breather. Iduna says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Iduna is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Tezik postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Iduna to stand up.
Tezik fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Tezik throws a big shot that misses.
Iduna is trying hard to land a takedown here. Tezik sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Tezik appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Iduna.
As Iduna looks to move away, Tezik throws a big counter combo but Iduna just gets out of the way.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Tezik tries to score a power double leg takedown but Iduna sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Tezik somewhat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tezik finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Tezik is defended easily by Iduna.
Tezik looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Iduna feints the counter takedown.
Tezik just misses with a punch to the body.

Tezik gets caught flat footed, as Iduna shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Tezik is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Iduna's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Iduna stalling.
Tezik has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Iduna after a bit of a struggle.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cezik Tezik. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Tezik wants to break the clinch but can't.

Iduna pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

and Iduna counters with a crisp one two that drops Tezik! Iduna thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Tezik to his feet! Tezik is in big trouble!

Tezik is rocked!
Iduna throws a powerful right kick. Tezik tried to block low but the kick was high! Tezik was taken right off of his feet! Iduna jumps in to finish the job and the ref tackles him! The fight is over!
