Coming up we have a heavyweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Fletch Brandis (ranked 4006 p4p, 360 weight class) and Rickson Silva (ranked 21595 p4p, 502 weight class). Brandis comes into the arena with Lynyrd Skynyrd : The Ballad of Curtis Loew blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 2 losses; Rickson Silva !
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Percy O'Donnell and Frank Antenori.


The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Brandis tries to clinch up but Silva circles away and keeps his distance.

Silva moves into range and clinches up with Brandis.

Silva jumps into guard, dragging Brandis to the mat.

Silva is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Brandis wants to control from the top but Silva keeps moving.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Brandis drops back looking for a leg! Silva is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Silva manages to kick Brandis off! Brandis jumps back into Silva 's guard.

Silva has his foot on Brandis's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Brandis works his way back into a safe position though.

Brandis is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Silva knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Brandis goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Silva has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Brandis but great work by Silva .

Silva might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Brandis haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Brandis is looking for a sweep. Silva is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Brandis slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Brandis wants to sweep but no luck.

Silva wants to control from the top but Brandis keeps moving.
Brandis bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Silva 's guard.

Let's hope that Silva has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Silva has his feet on Brandis's thighs here. He's pushed Brandis off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Brandis screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!

After the fight, Rickson Silva was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
In defeat, Fletch Brandis stepped up to the mic, saying 'I think I'm gonna drink a Miller Lite tonight and play some pool.'.
